LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer have marked the start of deliveries of the airline’s first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The aircraft is expected to enter service in the coming days, supporting LATAM’s network expansion in Brazil. The airline has increased the number of airports it serves in the country from 44 six years ago to 63 today.
The aircraft is the first of 12 E195-E2s scheduled for delivery to LATAM by the end of 2026. Its arrival marks progress on the plan announced in September 2025, when LATAM Airlines Group disclosed an agreement to acquire up to 74 aircraft of the type.
“We chose the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil sustainably. With the E2, we will connect new markets with strong demand and economic potential to our global network, allowing us to surpass the milestone of 70 airports served in Brazil as early as 2027,” says Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil.
New aircraft to serve 42 routes
LATAM’s first E195-E2 aircraft are scheduled to enter service between November 2026 and March 2027. In the initial phase, the first 14 aircraft will operate across 42 routes, including eight new routes and four new destinations: Cabo Frio (RJ), Ji-Paraná (RO), Macaé (RJ) and Rondonópolis (MT).

With these routes in operation, LATAM Airlines Brasil expects to have the largest domestic network in its history. For 2027, the airline is also assessing the feasibility of adding up to 18 new destinations using the new aircraft model, as it continues to expand connectivity through its main hubs across Brazil.
“We are proud to celebrate the completion of LATAM Airlines Brazil’s first E195-E2. This aircraft will play an important role in the company's strategy to expand its connectivity, offering the ideal combination of efficiency, operational flexibility, and comfort. It is gratifying to see the E195-E2 contributing to connecting new destinations and supporting the development of air transportation in Brazil,” says Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer.
The E195-E2 will give LATAM greater fleet flexibility, allowing it to serve markets with varying levels of demand and introduce new connections. LATAM Airlines Brazil is scheduled to receive an additional 12 aircraft of this type in 2027.
Certification process and cabin features
Following delivery, the first E195-E2 will undergo the final procedures required before entering service, including customs clearance, cabin interior approval and completion of the certification process with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
LATAM Airlines Brazil is expected to complete certification to operate the E195-E2 around one year after announcing the aircraft acquisition. The timeline was shortened through collaboration between various departments at the airline and Embraer.

In an unprecedented move, LATAM used an Embraer demonstration aircraft, known as the ‘Profit Hunter’, for evacuation demonstrations, evaluation flights, and the training and qualification of pilots and cabin crew. The approach reduced the time required to complete these procedures by approximately half, while maintaining all operational safety requirements and standards.
LATAM’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft will feature 136 seats in a 2-2 configuration, with no middle seats, across Premium Economy and Economy cabins. Depending on the aircraft configuration, Premium Economy will offer up to 20 seats.
Passengers will benefit from extra legroom, greater seat recline and enhanced onboard service in Premium Economy. The aircraft will also offer free Wi-Fi for registered LATAM Pass members, USB-C ports at every seat and access to LATAM Play, the airline’s entertainment platform featuring movies, TV shows, music and other content.
The E195-E2 will enable LATAM to serve markets of varying sizes and expand its domestic network in Brazil, connecting more cities while maintaining a focus on operational and economic viability.
E195-E2 offers fuel efficiency and extended range
The E195-E2, the largest aircraft in Embraer’s E-Jets E2 family, combines operational efficiency with passenger comfort. It offers up to 30% lower fuel consumption than first-generation E-Jets, a range of 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km) and fourth-generation fly-by-wire avionics.
Drawing on 20 years of operational experience, the E2 family incorporates aerodynamic and technological improvements that reduce carbon emissions by up to 25%. Together, the E-Jets and E-Jets E2 families have surpassed 2,000 aircraft deliveries, with more than 80 airlines operating them across 50 countries.
