Emirates has operated its first-ever flight from Dubai to Helsinki, Finland. Flight EK167 departed Dubai at 07:30 on October 1, with a near-full passenger and cargo load, including a VIP delegation and media onboard.
With the launch of the new route, Emirates becomes the only airline to offer a year-round direct connection between the UAE and Finland. The service will provide connectivity to Helsinki from nearly 140 destinations across the airline’s global network, including key points in Australia, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
The Emirates delegation onboard the inaugural flight was led by Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer and Jeffrey Van Haeften, Senior Vice President of Cargo Commercial Worldwide, Emirates SkyCargo.

The new daily service is operated by an Airbus A350, the latest aircraft type to join Emirates’ all-widebody fleet. The aircraft accommodates 298 passengers across three cabins: Business, Premium Economy and Economy.
The A350 will offer Emirates’ latest products and services on the Helsinki route, with bright, spacious cabins and updated technology. Passengers can also choose from regionally inspired multi-course menus featuring Finnish flavours, including juniper-marinated centre-cut salmon, seared venison with sage butter and blackberry sauce, and lingonberry marble cheesecake with berry compote.
The daily service is scheduled to provide convenient connections via Dubai to destinations across Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia.
Emirates SkyCargo will offer up to 16 tonnes of bellyhold capacity on each Helsinki flight, supporting two-way trade between Finland and the UAE while connecting both markets to destinations worldwide via Dubai. Key cargo exports include pharmaceuticals, electronics, machinery, timber and perishables.
The UAE is Finland’s largest trading partner in the Gulf, and the new route is expected to further strengthen trade links between the two countries and create new opportunities for Finnish businesses.
The airline said tickets can now be booked through its website, the Emirates app or travel agents.
