Emirates will offer Premium Economy on all flights between Delhi and Dubai from 25 October, marking a significant expansion of its premium cabin offering in India.
According to ETTravelWorld, the airline will introduce its flagship Airbus A380 on the Delhi-Dubai route, making the national capital the third Indian destination, after Mumbai and Bengaluru, to receive scheduled A380 services.
The deployment will strengthen Emirates' premium offering on one of its busiest Indian routes while increasing capacity with its largest passenger aircraft.
A380 to complement existing Delhi services
The Airbus A380 will operate on flights EK512 and EK513 in a four-class configuration.
It will complement Emirates' three other daily Delhi services, which are already operated by retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Premium Economy cabins.
With the addition of the A380, passengers travelling between Delhi and Dubai will have access to Premium Economy across every Emirates flight on the route.
According to the airline, Premium Economy will be available from six Indian cities by the end of October:
- Delhi
- Mumbai
- Ahmedabad
- Bengaluru
- Kolkata
- Kochi
Kolkata to receive Airbus A350
Alongside the Delhi upgrade, Emirates is also enhancing services from Kolkata.
From 25 October, the airline will replace the Boeing 777 operating daily flights EK570/571 with its next-generation Airbus A350.
The aircraft will feature Emirates' Premium Economy cabin.
Combined with the airline's five weekly retrofitted Boeing 777 services operating as EK572/573, Premium Economy will be available across all 12 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai.
India network continues to expand
By the end of October, Emirates' Premium Economy network in India will include:
- Four daily services from Delhi
- 22 weekly flights from Mumbai
- 12 weekly flights from Kolkata
- Nine weekly flights from Ahmedabad
- Seven weekly flights from Bengaluru
- Two weekly flights from Kochi
The airline is also expanding its customer service presence in India through new retail travel stores in Delhi and Mumbai, with additional outlets planned for Hyderabad and Bengaluru. A dedicated call centre in Mumbai is also being established.
Strong focus on the Indian market
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, said the latest aircraft deployment reflects the airline's continued investment in the Indian market and responds to sustained demand for travel between India and Dubai.
Emirates currently serves nine Indian gateways comprising Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The airline operates 167 weekly flights from India to Dubai, providing onward connections to nearly 140 destinations across its global network.
