Etihad Airways will increase its Abu Dhabi-Damascus service from four to seven weekly flights from November 14, 2026, making the route daily.
The Abu Dhabi-Damascus service is operated using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
Since launching the route in June, the service has seen strong demand from passengers travelling between the UAE and Syria, including families, business travellers and passengers connecting to destinations across Etihad’s network. The move to a daily schedule will provide passengers with greater flexibility when travelling between the two countries.

Etihad said many Syrians have built careers and raised families in the UAE, with the daily service providing greater flexibility to plan trips home around family occasions or long weekends.
“The response to our Damascus service has impressed us from the very first flight, and a daily service is the natural next step. It brings the Syrian capital within easy reach of our guests in the UAE, and places Damascus just one stop from the many destinations we serve beyond Abu Dhabi,” said Arik De, Etihad Airways Chief Revenue & Commercial Officer.
From Abu Dhabi, passengers travelling from Syria can continue onward with Etihad to destinations ranging from Muscat and the Maldives to North America, including Toronto, Calgary, New York and Charlotte. Calgary will join Etihad’s network on October 25 as its newest destination in North America.
The UAE capital offers attractions including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, museums in the Saadiyat Cultural District and beaches along the Arabian Gulf. Etihad’s Stopover programme allows passengers to extend their stay in Abu Dhabi while connecting to onward destinations.
For passengers travelling from the UAE to Syria, the daily service provides greater access to Damascus. The Syrian capital has long been a centre of trade, scholarship and faith, with attractions including its walled Old City and the Umayyad Mosque, one of the region’s most significant landmarks.
