PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF AeroAsia), part of the Garuda Indonesia Group, has signed a 20-year concession agreement with Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate an MRO facility at Muscat International Airport.
The agreement was signed by GMF AeroAsia CEO Andi Fahrurrozi and Oman CAA President Eng. Naif Ali Hamed Al-Abri during the Civil Aviation Investment Forum (CAIF) 2026 at the CAA headquarters in Muscat on October 5. The agreement marks GMF AeroAsia's expansion into the international MRO market.
Under the agreement, CAA Oman will serve as the hangar owner and concession provider and oversee regulatory compliance and safety standards. GMF AeroAsia will develop and operate the hangar and supporting facilities, drawing on its expertise in aircraft maintenance services.

The facility will be developed in phases, based on market demand and the agreed business plan.
GMF AeroAsia said Oman’s strategic location is expected to provide access to markets across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, while complementing its existing service network in Indonesia.
“The development of an MRO facility in Oman marks the first step in establishing GMF AeroAsia's operational presence closer to customers in the Middle East and surrounding regions. With our experience and capabilities, we see an opportunity to serve a broader aircraft maintenance market while contributing to the growth of Oman’s aviation industry,” said Andi Fahrurrozi, CEO, GMF AeroAsia.
On the same occasion, GMF AeroAsia also signed a Commemoration Document with Mach Aerospace International to support the development of aviation capabilities and human resources. The agreement forms part of GMF AeroAsia's efforts to develop the MRO ecosystem in Oman.
GMF AeroAsia said it will continue its operational preparations with local partners, including the phased development of facilities, capabilities and human resources. The company said the expansion and new partnerships will support its international operations and enable it to provide MRO services to customers in the region.
