According to updates issued by Hamad International Airport (HIA) and reported by The Peninsula, the airport has been progressively adding airline operations since late April as demand for international travel strengthens across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The latest expansion reflects Doha’s growing role as a regional transit and long-haul aviation hub, supported by the continued network growth of Qatar Airways and increasing airline coordination at HIA.
HIA stated that flight operations are continuing to expand ahead of the peak summer travel period.
In a social media update cited by The Peninsula, the airport said: “As Qatar Airways’ network grows, and with 26 airline partners currently operating to and from Doha, flight operations continue to expand ahead of the peak summer travel period.”
The phased rollout of airline operations began in April and is continuing through July.
According to the schedule released by HIA, airlines resumed or launched operations in phases between April 21 and July 2, 2026.
The latest expansion comes as Gulf aviation markets prepare for higher seasonal passenger demand during the summer months.
Doha has increasingly positioned itself as a strategic transfer hub connecting Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The continued addition of international carriers at HIA also supports broader traffic growth linked to Qatar Airways’ expanding network strategy.
