IndiGo will launch new direct flight services connecting Vijayawada with Varanasi and Kolkata from August 13, expanding domestic connectivity from Andhra Pradesh's commercial hub. The new routes will operate three times a week and are expected to strengthen access to two key destinations in northern and eastern India.
According to Deccan Chronicle, the airline will operate the flights every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The services were unveiled by Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh at his camp office in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
The minister said the additional flights would reduce travel time while supporting tourism, pilgrimage, trade and investment between the three cities.
New routes expand Vijayawada's domestic network
The new service will connect Vijayawada, Varanasi and Kolkata through a single flight, offering travellers direct access to two important destinations without requiring separate bookings or multiple connections.
According to IndiGo, the schedule will be as follows:
- Flight 6E 6502 will depart Vijayawada at 6.20 pm, arrive in Varanasi at 8.15 pm, and continue onward to Kolkata, reaching 10.15 pm.
- Flight 6E 6501 will depart Kolkata at 2.10 pm, stop in Varanasi, and arrive in Vijayawada at 5.50 pm.
- Services will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- The new routes are scheduled to begin August 13.
The addition further expands IndiGo's domestic network while improving connectivity for passengers travelling to and from Andhra Pradesh.

- Religious pilgrimage
- Trade and business
