Two SpiceJet flights, SG 5111 and SG 5105, were scheduled to depart for Dubai on Monday morning and evening, respectively. However, both flights were rescheduled, leaving many passengers stranded at the airport, the source said.
When contacted on Tuesday, a SpiceJet spokesperson said the airline regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers and was arranging alternative flights.

The source also said around 200 passengers had staged protests at various locations in Terminal 3 (T3) of Delhi airport since late Monday evening, prompting airport officials to take up the matter with SpiceJet executives.
“SpiceJet flights SG 5111 and SG 5105, operating from Delhi to Dubai, have been delayed due to operational reasons following the grounding of an aircraft. Alternate flights are being arranged to accommodate the affected passengers, and the airline is making every effort to minimise the inconvenience caused,” said the airline spokesperson in a statement.
Delhi airport authorities were assisting the stranded passengers as they awaited further information about their flights.
In a post on social media, Delhi Airport said, “We understand that some SpiceJet flights are experiencing disruption, and we regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers. Delhi Airport teams have been coordinating closely with the airline and relevant stakeholders to support affected passengers. F&B and necessary assistance have been arranged to help minimise the inconvenience. The comfort of our passengers remain our priority. We thank all passengers for their patience and understanding. For updated flight information, please stay in touch with the Airline concerned or reach out to our on-ground teams.”
In recent months, SpiceJet has faced multiple challenges. Last week, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu told PTI that the Ministry of Civil Aviation and aviation regulator DGCA were closely monitoring the airline’s financial position and operations.
