SpiceJet to add three Airbus A320s, restores Boeing 737 MAX to service

SpiceJet is set to expand its operational fleet with the addition of three Airbus A320 aircraft on damp lease arrangements next month, while simultaneously bringing a Boeing 737 MAX back into commercial service as part of efforts to enhance capacity and support network growth.

The fleet expansion initiative comes as the airline prepares for heightened travel demand and continues efforts to improve aircraft availability across its domestic and international operations.

According to information released by the airline and reported by PTI, lease agreements for the three Airbus A320 aircraft have already been finalised, paving the way for their induction into the fleet in the coming weeks.

Capacity boost planned for peak travel demand

The addition of the Airbus A320 aircraft is expected to provide SpiceJet with greater operational flexibility during one of the busiest periods of the year for air travel.

The airline said the leased narrowbody aircraft will help strengthen capacity while supporting network requirements across key routes.
