A consortium of global investors, including Singapore’s Temasek and Alpha Wave Global, is in discussions to invest nearly $1.3 billion in Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), signalling continued international confidence in India’s rapidly expanding aviation infrastructure market. The proposed transaction could value AAHL at approximately $18 billion (₹1.51 lakh crore).
According to reports, the investment discussions involve four investors in total, although the identities of the remaining participants have not been independently confirmed. The negotiations come shortly after significant capital inflows into other Adani Group entities, reflecting renewed global investor appetite for infrastructure assets linked to India’s long-term growth story.
Adani Airport Holdings currently operates India’s largest private airport network, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru airports, while also developing the Navi Mumbai International Airport project. The fresh capital is expected to support airport expansion, modernization projects, and city-side infrastructure development across its portfolio.
Industry analysts believe the proposed investment highlights strong global confidence in India’s aviation growth trajectory, with passenger traffic projected to rise sharply over the next decade amid expanding airport infrastructure and airline fleet additions.
