Adani Mundra Airport launches scheduled flights, boosting Kutch's connectivity

Adani Mundra Airport has commenced scheduled flight operations, marking a significant expansion of air connectivity for Gujarat's Kutch region and adding a new layer to the area's growing logistics ecosystem.

The airport on Tuesday launched its first scheduled passenger services through Star Air, connecting Mundra with Mumbai and Goa. Alongside these services, the airport also opened operations on additional routes serving Hindon, Surat, Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kolhapur and Nanded, according to the company.

The move brings regular commercial air services to a region that plays a critical role in India's trade and industrial activity through its proximity to Mundra Port and the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Strengthening regional connectivity

The launch is expected to improve access for businesses, logistics operators, tourists and residents travelling to and from Kutch.

Located adjacent to one of India's largest commercial ports and a major industrial zone, Adani Mundra Airport provides another transport link for companies operating in the region. Improved air connectivity could reduce travel time for business travellers while supporting trade and commercial activity across western India.

According to the company, scheduled flight operations represent an important step in its broader vision of developing Kutch into a fully integrated multi-modal logistics and business hub.

Airport infrastructure in place

The airport has been equipped to handle both passenger and cargo operations.

• A 1,900-metre runway capable of accommodating passenger and cargo aircraft
• A passenger terminal with check-in counters
• Passenger lounges
• Dedicated parking facilities
• Accessibility features for travellers

The infrastructure allows the airport to support commercial aviation activity while complementing the region's existing road, rail and maritime connectivity.

The launch also adds momentum to the Adani Group's aviation business, which has expanded rapidly in recent years.
