Akasa Air and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) have announced plans to gradually shift the airline’s Mumbai–Jeddah operations from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). The move supports the development of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s dual-airport system.
According to the statement, Akasa Air will shift its Mumbai–Jeddah flights to Navi Mumbai International Airport from December 2026. Bookings are now open through the airline’s website, Android and iOS apps, and leading online travel agencies (OTAs).
The move builds on Akasa Air’s existing operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport and will further expand international connectivity from the new airport. It also supports NMIA’s development as a key aviation gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, offering travellers greater choice and convenient access to air travel, the release said.
The move follows a recent announcement by IndiGo and the Air India Group that they will gradually shift selected domestic and international flights from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
ANI reported that the airline has extended the suspension of flights to and from Jeddah until 10 November and Riyadh until 30 November, amid the evolving security situation in Saudi Arabia.

“In view of the prevailing security situation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and following a careful assessment of the safety environment, Akasa Air has extended the suspension of flights to and from the following destinations: Jeddah: Until and including November 10, 2026; Riyadh: Until and including November 30, 2026,” the airline said.
Akasa Air added that it was closely monitoring developments and assessing the situation in real time. Passengers affected by the cancellations can opt for a full refund, credited to the original payment method within seven days, or reschedule their travel at no additional cost. Passengers who booked through travel partners have been advised to contact them directly for assistance.
Akasa Air has also added another Boeing 737 MAX to its fleet today, taking the total to 45 aircraft. The aircraft is registered as VT-YBU.
