Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has expanded its domestic network with the arrival of a ceremonial flight operated by Goa-based regional airline FLY91. The flight arrived from Hyderabad, marking FLY91’s first landing at NMIA, and was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute.
The new services will connect Navi Mumbai with destinations across Maharashtra, the west coast and the Lakshadweep Islands, offering passengers additional options for leisure, business and regional travel. The routes will also strengthen NMIA’s connectivity with emerging domestic markets and its role as a gateway to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
FLY91 has added Navi Mumbai as its 14th destination and fifth in Maharashtra, with scheduled services to Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Goa (GOX) and Agatti in the Lakshadweep Islands as part of its winter schedule.

“The arrival of FLY91 is an important addition to Navi Mumbai International Airport’s growing airline network. The four destinations it will connect us with have strong relevance for leisure, tourism and regional business travel. As we continue to expand our network, our focus is on creating meaningful connections that make Navi Mumbai a convenient gateway for passengers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region,” said Subhash Murikenchery, CAO, Navi Mumbai International Airport.
FLY91’s entry into Navi Mumbai comes as the airline plans to significantly expand its fleet. The airline recently placed a firm order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft worth approximately US$1 billion.
With deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2032, the order is expected to support FLY91’s plans to increase its fleet from six to 60 aircraft.
“We are incredibly proud that FLY91’s aircraft has touched down in Navi Mumbai, the gateway to India’s financial capital, for the first time earlier today. Operated by an all-women crew, the ceremonial flight had investors, well-wishers and friends onboard, many of whom have been part of FLY91’s journey from the very start. Two-and-a-half years ago, we started operations with two aircraft connecting to three destinations. This winter schedule, we will be operating over 350 weekly flights across 14 destinations,” said Manoj Chacko, Founder, Managing Director, and CEO, FLY91.
“Navi Mumbai is an important addition to FLY91’s network. It is our 14th destination and fifth in Maharashtra. We will be connecting the financial capital to emerging markets in western India. FLY91 will operate flights from Navi Mumbai to Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Goa and Agatti. Our focus continues to remain on building a practical regional network that makes air travel more accessible and truly connects Bharat,” he added.
With the addition of Navi Mumbai, FLY91’s network will now cover 14 destinations, including Goa, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Solapur, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Agatti, Kochi, Hubballi, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
Navi Mumbai International Airport has surpassed 3.2 million passengers since beginning commercial operations on December 25, 2025, highlighting steady passenger growth and an expansion in connectivity from India’s newest greenfield international airport.
The airport began operations with 13 destinations and now connects passengers to around 43 domestic destinations. It has handled more than 25,295 commercial flights since the start of operations, reflecting its growing role as an aviation gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and western India.
