Avolon, a global aviation finance company, has announced firm orders for 250 new-generation aircraft from Boeing and Airbus.
The company has placed a firm order for 110 Airbus aircraft, comprising 35 A330-900s and 75 A320neo Family aircraft. The latest order brings Avolon’s total commitments for the A330-900 to 114 aircraft and its A320 Family orders to around 650. Avolon also has the option to purchase a further 100 aircraft from Airbus.
The lessor has ordered 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft under a firm agreement.

“We continue to see strong demand for new-technology aircraft, reflected in our placement and trading activity this quarter. Against that backdrop, we are pleased to have reached agreements with Airbus and Boeing that strengthen and extend our long-term delivery pipeline. These orders further enhance our ability to support the future fleet requirements of our airline customers as they renew and expand their fleets into the most fuel-efficient technology available,” said Andy Cronin, CEO, Avolon.
The new orders support the long-term fleet requirements of Avolon’s airline customers, bringing its total firm aircraft commitments to 749. The orders remain subject to approval by the shareholders of Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., Avolon’s 70% shareholder, which is expected before the end of October 2026.
“This is a major order for both the A330neo and the A320neo Family and we thank Avolon for its repeated endorsement of our products,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business. “With this acquisition, Avolon confirms its position as the leading lessor for the A330-900, having purchased 114 of the type from Airbus. It is also another demonstration of the strong demand for the A330neo and A320neo from the lessor community, who clearly value the broad market appeal and flexibility these two products offer in the market space from domestic to regional to long-haul routes.”
