Fly91 Adds Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Hubballi to Network, Expanding to 12 Cities From April 10

Three New Cities, Five New Sectors

Fly91, a regional airline based in Goa, recently announced the launch of services to Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, and Hubballi, in addition to adding five new sectors. This expansion will bring the total number of destinations serviced by Fly91 to 12 and will commence from 10 April 2026, as per the reports published by PTI. The expansion adds close to 30,000 additional seats per month and deepens the airline's coverage across southern and south-central India.

New service routes will include: Double daily flights between Hyderabad – Rajahmundry, Double daily flights between Hyderabad – Vijayawada, Daily flights between Hyderabad – Hubballi, and Hubballi – Bengaluru. Five weekly flights between Hyderabad and Solapur, and six weekly flights between Goa and Solapur, as reported by the Economic Times.

The Aircraft Behind the Growth: The ATR 72-600

Fly91's entire fleet and its operational philosophy are built on the ATR 72-600 turboprop. It is currently using six of these aircraft, which are being leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) and TrueNoord on a phased-in basis, as confirmed in Fly91’s press release dated January 2026. The first two aircraft were delivered to Fly91 in January 2026 from ATR’s manufacturing facility in Toulouse, France, via DAE, and the other two aircraft were delivered from TrueNoord between December 2025 and January 2026.

The ATR 72-600 can accommodate up to seventy (70) passengers and has operating abilities on runways as short as 1,050 metres. Therefore, this aircraft type has been designed specifically for operating on short-haul regional routes, which are important considerations for airports such as Rajahmundry and Hubballi, where there are no infrastructures available for accommodating mainline jets, etc. Furthermore, an ATR white paper published in Whalesbook stated that more than 90% of all travel in India for inter-city flights occurs within a distance of 400 nautical miles, which also corresponds with ATR’s operational range.

Fly91's aircraft are currently achieving utilisation rates exceeding 2,500 flight hours annually. Fly91 has entered into an 8-year Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA) with ATR in support of fleet expansion, which provides Fly91 with reliable network costs while expanding its airline operations.

The ATR 72-600's ability to land on 1,050-metre runways is the operative technical fact — without it, Rajahmundry, Hubballi, and dozens of future Fly91 destinations cannot be served by any other aircraft in India's current fleet.

30 Aircraft by 2029 — The Scale of What's Coming for Fly91

Fly91 began its operation as an airline in late March 2024. Since then, the airline has flown more than 170,000 passengers on nearly 3,500 individual flights. The airline's present goal is to have 30 airplanes operating by the year 2029, according to an article published by LARA News. Fly91 is a relatively small airline: it currently operates just six aircraft and flies to 12 cities. However, each route it opens is one that the large carriers rarely serve. That is not a niche. That is a structural gap, and Fly91 is the airline filling it.
