Haryana aims to become north India’s aviation hub with new facilities in Bhiwani

Haryana has outlined plans to position itself as a major aviation hub in northern India following the inauguration of new aviation infrastructure worth nearly ₹31 crore at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Civil Aerodrome in Bhiwani.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state's growing investment in aviation facilities is aimed at improving regional connectivity, expanding training capabilities and creating new employment opportunities in the sector.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the newly inaugurated facilities include a modern aircraft hangar, an air traffic control (ATC) tower, a security post and a canteen.

New aviation infrastructure expands operational capacity

The latest investment marks a significant upgrade for the Bhiwani aerodrome and forms part of Haryana's broader aviation development strategy.

According to Saini, the project represents more than the addition of physical infrastructure and is intended to support the long-term growth of aviation services in the state.

The newly commissioned facilities include:

• A state-of-the-art aircraft hangar

• An air traffic control tower

• A security post

• Operational support infrastructure, including a canteen

The chief minister said the facilities would strengthen aviation infrastructure, improve regional air connectivity and create new opportunities for young people seeking careers in aviation.

Addressing the gathering, Saini described the development as the beginning of a new phase in Bhiwani's growth trajectory.

Hisar airport remains central to state's aviation strategy

The chief minister highlighted ongoing developments at Hisar Airport, which the state views as another key pillar of its aviation expansion plans.

According to Hindustan Times, scheduled flight services have already commenced from Hisar to:

• Delhi

• Ayodhya

• Chandigarh

• Jaipur

Saini also announced that new routes connecting Hisar with Jammu and Ahmedabad are expected to begin operations soon.

He said stronger air connectivity would support not only passenger movement but also contribute to trade, tourism and investment activity across Haryana.
