IndiGo has launched a dedicated airport transfer service across India as the country's largest airline continues to expand its presence beyond air travel into broader mobility and travel services.
Called ‘Cabs with IndiGo’, the new offering provides pre-booked airport transfers for travellers travelling to and from airports served by the airline. The service has been introduced as part of IndiGo’s strategy to create a more integrated travel experience by combining flights, accommodation, local experiences and ground transportation within a single platform.
Strengthening the journey beyond the airport
The launch marks another step in IndiGo’s efforts to build an end-to-end travel ecosystem for customers.
According to information shared by the airline and reported by ETTravelWorld, the service is available across Indian cities within IndiGo’s network and is powered by mobility technology platform Mojoboxx.
Customers can book airport transfers through IndiGo’s website and mobile application alongside flight and other travel bookings, allowing travellers to manage multiple parts of their journey through a single interface.
Features designed around airport travel
The airline said the service has been developed to address common concerns associated with airport transportation, including ride availability, pricing uncertainty and last-minute cancellations.
Key features of the service include:
• Assured airport pick-up and drop-off services
• Pre-booked rides at transparent pricing
• Nominal booking amount to reserve a cab
• Free cancellation until the scheduled pick-up time
• Complimentary waiting time of up to 30 minutes
• Availability across IndiGo-served destinations in India
The company said these features are intended to improve predictability and reliability for passengers before and after their flights.
Loyalty rewards integrated into the service
A key component of the launch is its integration with IndiGo BluChip, the airline’s loyalty programme.
Under the programme, customers earn five BluChips for every ₹100 spent on airport transfer bookings made through the platform.
The integration extends IndiGo’s loyalty ecosystem beyond air travel and allows customers to accumulate rewards through additional travel-related services.
Part of a broader travel services strategy
The airport transfer service builds on IndiGo’s growing portfolio of ancillary travel offerings.
In addition to flight bookings, the airline already provides access to a network of more than 700,000 accommodation options and offers curated sightseeing and travel experiences. The addition of airport transportation expands the range of services available to customers through IndiGo’s digital channels.
Industry observers view such ancillary offerings as an increasingly important part of airline strategies globally, helping carriers improve customer engagement while creating additional revenue opportunities beyond ticket sales.
Executive highlights customer convenience focus
Commenting on the launch, Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, said the airline's objective extends beyond operating flights and includes building a seamless travel experience across every stage of a customer's journey.
According to the company, the introduction of airport transfers is intended to ensure smoother movement between travellers' homes, airports and final destinations while reducing uncertainty associated with ground transportation.
Digital platform takes centre stage
The rollout reflects a wider shift among airlines towards creating integrated travel marketplaces through digital platforms.
Rather than limiting engagement to flight bookings, airlines are increasingly seeking to remain connected with customers throughout the travel cycle by offering complementary services such as accommodation, transportation, insurance and destination experiences.
For IndiGo, which continues to expand both domestically and internationally, the launch reinforces its focus on digital services and customer convenience while broadening the scope of its travel ecosystem.
