Mahindra Group has incorporated Novavayu Aerospace Limited, a new company focused on manufacturing aircraft, aerospace products and related systems for the defence sector.
The company was incorporated on 30 July 2026, according to regulatory information reported by The Economic Times. Novavayu is headquartered in Mumbai and has an authorised share capital of ₹1 crore.
The new entity gives Mahindra a dedicated corporate structure for aircraft manufacturing as the group expands beyond aerospace components and structures.
According to The Economic Times, Novavayu Aerospace is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd. Mahindra Defence Systems is wholly owned by Mahindra Advanced Technologies Ltd, which in turn is wholly owned by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
The corporate structure makes Novavayu a step-down subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra.

Mahindra's relationship with Airbus has also expanded into helicopter structures.
In April 2025, Mahindra announced an agreement with Airbus Helicopters to manufacture the main fuselage assembly for the H130 helicopter. Mahindra said industrialisation would begin immediately, with the first cabin assembly scheduled for delivery to Airbus by March 2027.
Mahindra Aerostructures has also secured work on the Airbus H125 helicopter fuselage programme, with deliveries targeted to begin in 2027, according to reporting by The Times of India.
These programmes give Mahindra experience in producing major aircraft structures for an international aerospace manufacturer.
Mahindra has separately been building a relationship with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
In October 2025, the two companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement covering the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft and its potential participation in the Indian Air Force's Medium Transport Aircraft programme.
According to Embraer, the agreement covers areas including joint marketing, industrialisation and opportunities for local manufacturing, assembly, supply-chain development and maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities in India.
The partnership was expanded in February 2026, when Embraer and Mahindra announced plans to work towards establishing C-390 maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities in India if the aircraft is selected for the Indian Air Force programme.
The C-390 relationship is separate from the incorporation of Novavayu. The available information does not establish that Novavayu will manufacture the C-390.
The creation of Novavayu marks a new corporate step for Mahindra's aerospace activities.
