Vietjet has launched new routes connecting Hanoi with Almaty and Prague, as well as Almaty with Prague, expanding its international network and marking its entry into the European Union.
The new routes provide more travel options between Vietnam, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, supporting tourism, trade and cultural exchange across Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Europe.
The routes operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. Passengers can choose Business and SkyBoss services, which offer onboard hospitality, a range of dining options and additional comforts. Vietnamese citizens can also visit Kazakhstan visa-free for stays of up to 30 days.
The launch ceremonies were held at Almaty International Airport and Václav Havel Airport Prague on 10 October, with local leaders, residents and visitors welcoming the new services. The inaugural flights received traditional water cannon salutes and cultural performances celebrating local heritage. Passengers were also presented with commemorative gifts from Vietjet and the airports.

Vietjet Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Thanh Son, said: “The launch of these new routes marks an important milestone in our international network expansion. Vietjet will continue to expand its services to Europe, making travel between Europe, Australia and Asia more convenient. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Vietnam and bringing Vietnamese and international travellers closer to destinations rich in culture, heritage and unique experiences, while supporting the growth of trade and investment.”
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is known for its Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture, historic squares and centuries-old cultural heritage. Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, attracts visitors with its natural landscapes, diverse culture and strategic location in Central Asia. Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, offers an introduction to Vietnamese culture and serves as a gateway to the country’s historical, cultural and natural attractions.
“Vietnam and the Czech Republic have a strong foundation of time-tested friendship, and now we need more bridges to carry out that friendship forward. Air connectivity is one of those bridges. I am confident that this new route will contribute to making the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Czechia not only stronger at the governmental level, but also more vibrant among our peoples. Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to Vietjet Air for its confidence in the Czech market and for its contribution to strengthening connectivity between Vietnam and Europe,” said Duong Hoai Nam, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic.
Vietjet offers passengers a selection of freshly prepared hot meals featuring Vietnamese and international cuisine, including pho, banh mi and Vietnamese iced milk coffee. The meals are served by cabin crew aboard modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
