Etihad Airways has operated its Airbus A380 to Thailand for the first time, with the airline’s flagship aircraft arriving in Bangkok on 26 October.
The service introduces The Residence, a three-room suite in the sky, to Thailand for the first time, alongside the airline’s First Apartments, lie-flat Business seats and Economy cabin.
The inaugural flight marks the start of daily Airbus A380 services between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Bangkok, increasing capacity on the route and bringing Etihad’s premium onboard products to Thailand.
The aircraft’s introduction coincides with the start of the peak winter travel season, when demand for travel between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe is expected to be strong. The Bangkok service follows the introduction of daily A380 flights between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo in June 2026.
Etihad Airways’ daily Airbus A380 service from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok operates as flight EY402, departing Zayed International Airport at 21:20 local time and arriving in Bangkok at 06:35 the following day. The return flight, EY403, departs Bangkok at 08:35 and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 12:20 local time. Both services operate daily using the Airbus A380.

“The arrival of our A380 in Bangkok is a significant milestone and another example of how we are investing behind strong customer demand. Thailand is an important premium market for Etihad, and deploying our flagship aircraft allows us to increase capacity while bringing our most distinctive guest experience to the route. We see tremendous opportunity across Thailand and the wider Asian market, and our investment in the region reflects our confidence in its continued growth. Bangkok joining our A380 network is an important part of that journey as we expand our capacity, strengthen connectivity through Abu Dhabi and offer guests even more reasons to choose Etihad,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways.
Before the introduction of the A380 on flight EY402 between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, Etihad Airways operated the Airbus A350-1000 on the same service.
